Located at the end of the quarry road in Marble, Colorado, adjacent to the marble quarry.  The private Marble Quarry Trail follows the scenic Yule Creek canyon, offering views of historic and modern marble quarry operations.

Using the trail

 

 

 

Marble block guard rail are located at the end of the quarry road just before public parking area.  The quarry's marble rubble pile can be seen in the distance.

Access fees payable in the red tube box located on the gate just beyond the first log bridge.

What is that building?

The property owners relocated and renovated an 1832  Pennsylvania Dutch timber frame barn using reclaimed wood siding from an old Northern California pickle factory.

The trail passes next to the private access trestle-bridge; not across.


The trail passes through the active marble quarry's rubble pile.

 

Watch for falling rock from

the cliffside along the trail.

Use caution when hiking through the marble blocks.

After passing through the marble rubble blocks, a trail that continues on the eastern edge of the pile leads to a viewing portal.

Mining regulations prohibit visitors in the mine and active mining areas.

Additional rules, disclaimers and warnings:

  • Access and use area limited to the trail; Users are prohibited from leaving the trail.
  • Do not enter or cross Yule Creek from the trail.
  • Fire danger; No smoking.
  • The property owners reserve the right to refuse access to anyone.
  • Dangerous conditions exist;  PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!
  • Marble rubble blocks cover the marble quarry trail at points.
  • Steep and loose gravel slopes adjoin the trail.
  • Trail bridges may be slippery, especially when wet or icy. 
  • Use caution before proceeding through the blocks to view the active quarry.
  • The marble pile is a dangerous condition existing on the trail.
  • DO NOT climb on the blocks or on the marble rubble pile.
  • The marble rubble pile has not been stabilized and may be used by the active marble quarry.

 

 

   

Do not climb on the marble pile.

The marble pile is not safe.
